We are currently recruiting an Adult Programme Manager to take the lead role in realising the British Council’s ambition to be the market leader in adult learning in Sudan. The post will involve developing, expanding and managing the current adult programme business to achieve ambitious growth targets and contribute to the overall development of the Teaching Centre operation in Sudan.

The British Council Sudan is one of the fastest growing Teaching Centres in the British Council network. Since opening in April 2010 it has developed four distinct training areas each designed to assist in the development of this rich and diverse country while enhancing the relationship between the UK and Sudan. We are currently recruiting for an Adult Programme Manager to lead on the academic and operational management of our adult public courses in Sudan.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Teacher to develop their management skills in a dynamic environment while driving the continued growth of our successful adult programme.

Our Team
We currently have a strong team of around 25 teachers, with a diverse range of nationalities. Teachers and coordinators work closely with the Teaching Centre Manager, Senior Teachers, Administration team and Customer Service team to ensure the professional delivery of quality English language training programmes. The Teaching Centre team are part of the wider British Council team working to create opportunities and build trust between the UK and Sudan.

Responsibilities include:
Business development - realisation of the teaching centre’s ambition to increase its engagement in the adult learning sector in Sudan:
Product and Services Management – including identifying new and developing existing products and services
Professional Support – identifying training needs and line management responsibility
Teaching/Training - Plan, prepare and deliver an average of 7.5 hours a week of adult teaching
