Chief Finance Officer
MTN Group is looking for qualified Sudanese candidate to hold the following position:
Chief Finance Officer
Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer
Financial Operations DEPT.
1- Develop an effective financial management framework for treasury; tax planning and financial controls in order to set standards and work methods.
2- Provide leadership and management with the visibility; control and decision support required
to understand and manage the financial team; as well as provide the team with the expertise to build
the financial capabilities in order to drive effectiveness and efficiencies within the team.
3- Prepare the annual finance work plan and ensure the effective execution thereof in order for
the business objectives to be achieved.
4- Establish the finance functions alignment with MTN group objectives in order to effectively drive the
overall business and group objectives.
5- Establish and monitor performance benchmarks for financial team in order to ensure ongoing effectiveness of the division.
6- Prepare; monitor and control the annual budget process to ensure expenditure is in line with the business plan.
7- Act as the chief advisor and strategist, providing needed support to the CEO; Board and employees
with respect to the identification of financial risk and long term financial effects of company decisions( financial scenario analysis).
8- Provide advise to Board and CEO in order to guide business decisions.
9- Provide direction and decision making capability in order to determine the best means of aligning
the operational environment with the strategic intent of the organization.
10- Act as custodian on company assets ( control; loss protection; internal control) to ensure
the safe guarding of these assets.
11- Advise on the resolution of attendant issues in forums such as Board meetings; MANCOM; Operational overviews etc.
12- Approve all finance and accounting transactions to ensure good corporate governance.
13- Ensure adequate company funding by ensuring optimal spending of money-keeping costs low yet product/service in line with standards set by MTN.
14- Evaluate the broader environment variables and business market conditions and incorporate this assessment into decision making process.
15- Identify financial risk and effects thereof so as to protect the business from potential revenue losses.
16- Maintain financial integrity in MTN OPCO books; financial processes and procedures in order to ensure good corporate governance is maintained.
17- Coordinate with various departments to obtain necessary information for reporting the state of the MTN OPCO business.
18- Manage risk and return of company financial resources.
19- Minimize revenue leakage.
20- Plan taxes efficiently to reduce impact of taxes on performance of business.
21- Report on the MTN OPCO business state in a true and fair manner>
22- Perform any other duties as requested by management.
Min. of 4 year-degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or related fields.
An MBA/Masters in related fields is an advantage.
Aprofessional Qualification such as CA, ACCA or CIMA.
Minimum of 10 years experience at a senior level reporting to the CEO of a Large reputable organization.
Minimum of 5 years experience in the telecommunications sector is a must.
Worked across diverse cultures and geographic.
