Descritpion

The American Refugee Committee International is a U,S based, private, non – profit, non – sectarian humanitarian organization serving humanitarian needs in South Darfur state.
Title of post: Finance Assistant
Report to: S. Finance Officer – Khartoum
Location: ARC Khartoum Office (with frequent visits to field sites)
Deadline: Dec. 10, 2015
Gross Salary: Starting with SDG 2,340
Job Summary:
Performs financial duties in ARC office in Khartoum and at the field site and ensure that financial procedures are conducted in accordance with ARC policy and that monthly reports are submitted in a timely and detailed manner.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Records and monitors all Khartoum financial transactions in accordance with ARC policies and procedures
• Payment all cash, after obtain proper authorization
• Assists in establishing and maintaining filing as in accordance with ARC procedures
• Ensures that receipts & invoices are obtained for all expenditures and verified in accordance with ARC procedures
• Manages cash accounts and follow up with Banks for transaction – letter – transfers to field operation areas
• Implements and follows all procedures as outlined in ARC’s Financial Policy Manual
• Assists in instructing and briefing local staff on financial procedures in consultation with the S. Finance Officer
• Prepares monthly cash and bank reconciliation
• Prepare all documents required by Donors
• Performs other related duties as assigned by your supervisor

Professional Background:
• 3 years progressive working experience, including supervisory experience preferably with an INGO
• Demonstrate understanding and practice of accounting principle
Qualification:
• University degree in Accounting
• Basic training in accounting principles; secretarial/administrative training, bookkeeping experience, or equivalent work – related experience, including demonstrated skills using standard computer software such as word processing and electronic spreadsheets. Computer literate in MS Office/excel applications and able to train staff
• Ability to communicate and write reports in English
• Good personal qualities including a cooperative and flexible attitude and being a good team player
• Demonstrated strong analytical and good interpersonal skills, report writing and training skills
• Age group not more than 4 years old
